Summary
The post discusses a Module 5 assignment that involved generating a blog post comparing the specifications of the Fujifilm X-Pro3 and the Sony A7R III cameras using a language model AI. John found the AI-generated response to be vague and incomplete, lacking important factual information and relying on subjective opinions. After making significant corrections to the original text, the author expressed skepticism about the reliability of AI-generated content, emphasizing that it should not be used without thorough fact-checking. Ultimately, while the AI prompt could serve as a template, it didn’t offer sufficient detail or personal insight.
Hey everyone! Our Module 5 assignment required us to generate a “pseudo” blog post about a topic we are familiar with, and then correct errors in the response from a large language model AI system of our choice. Naturally, I decided to compare the specifications of the two cameras I use daily: the Fujifilm X-Pro3 and the Sony A7R III.

My experience using the Nova ChatGPT platform for this assignment revealed a vague response and seemed to be based on a collective of popular written information about the two cameras. The prompt I used—”In 250-300 words, what are the key differences between the Fuji X-Pro3 and the Sony A7RIII cameras?”—resulted in a blog post that felt incomplete. It cut off key summary points as it approached the word limit, leaving out important details that needed to be addressed.

The generated response also contained very little factual data and relied heavily on subjective opinions about the cameras. Such as “it excels in film simulation options that appeal to enthusiasts interested in the aesthetic quality of their images.” In my corrections, you can see I focused on adding the factual information and specifications I was searching for when I initially selected my prompt for this assignment.

At this point in the game, I find it nearly impossible to trust AI-generated text; I consider it an unreliable technology for writing entire prompts, and no one should take the returned information as factual and then copy and paste it as their own for work or assignments without corrections being made or fact checks being completed. After reviewing all the changes I made to the AI-generated response, I noticed that almost nothing of the original text remained. In my opinion, AI tools are just that—tools, not technologies capable of replacing what humans can do. However, the prompt does serve as a valuable template for writing a comparison of the two cameras. Still, it was not sufficiently detailed to be directly copied and pasted, as it lacked thought and emotion behind the words.
